ART - Encaustic Copper & Verdigris Bird

When copper tarnishes, the oxidation produces a lovely blue-green color known as verdigris. So, naturally, copper color of the frame and the copper and verigris in this piece go together perfectly! This is an encaustic work with prints of leaves and patterns embedded in the wax. There is a final print of a long tailed bird near the surface.

Original 8" x 10" encaustic piece mounted in copper metallic paint finished frame measuring 9 1/8” x 11 1/8”. PLEASE NOTE: This frame is upcycled and, therefore, shows signs of wear and age. This is fitting to the texture of the work.
